Years ago when I first started doing research, I went to the Louisville , Jefferson Co KY Library on York Street. I found a set of books, it had all my fathers and his siblings birth and the number of the birth certificate. I've learned alot since than, but do remember the books were according to the first initial of the Surname. VERY helpful. The also have the German newspaper written in the native language as did the U of L library as having this newspaper. i don't know if they do look ups or not. It could have been for Lou. or KY. I thought it was for KY. Wish I could be of more help, and the Lousiville Library could be on the (net), haven't looked, know I should. Happy Hunting !! Mickey
