Hopson Willoughby was born in 1820 in the state of Kentucky, but I do not know where in the state. At the age of 19 he left his birth state settling in Missouri. Some where, some time he married Malinda WLLIAMS, said to have been born in Kentucky. Malinda and Hopson were in Wayne county Iowa by 1854 when son James was born, son David was also born there in 1856. The Willoughby's with their children moved to Kansas settling in Wilson county where they farmed on the Verdigris river. Malinda and Hopson returned to Iowa in 1901.
