On the Clark County USGENWEB page at http://www.rootsweb.com/~inclark/clark.htm, we have a list of all the libraries in the area. I particularly recommend the New Albany Library, the Filson Club (Louisville), the National Headquarters of the Sons of the American Revolution (Louisville) and the Library at the Hay Center in Salem. The SAR library ($3 a day) has one of the largest microfilm census repositories that I'm aware of in this area. The Hay Center and the New Albany library also have large census on microfilm collections. A resource that I recently discovered is the James P. Boyce Centennial Library at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville. The library is enormous but, on the second floor, they have the rare books archive and the microfilm collection, which includes hundreds of church histories and records. The Seminary is conveniently located at 2825 Lexington Road, east of downtown Louisville, just off the Grinstead exit from I-64, immediately west of the Cochran Hill Tunnels. The phone number is 502-897-4807 and they are open until 11 PM most weeknights as well as being open on Saturdays. Nights and weekends they have a skeleton staff, but you can do searches of their holdings on-line at http://lib.sbts.edu/MARION Pretty much across the road from SBTS is the Presbyterian seminary and they may have similar holdings, but I've never been there. Remember, if the church you are interested is not Baptist but it is an old church, don't forget that in the 1820s, the Restoration Movement resulted in hundreds of Midwestern and Southern churches leaving the Baptist faith and becoming independent Christian, Church of Christ or Disciples of Christ churches. Good luck.
