Seeking information on the following families in Jefferson Co., Ky. George MESSENGER (MESSINGER) b. abt. 1865 m. Minnie ? They appear on the 1900 census with daughters Elsie, Sadie, Annie, & Daisy. One record found at the Allen Co. library in Indiana (which yours truly failed to document) indicated that George died abt. 1900. He was a Louisville fireman according to the census. Census also indicates that both George and Minnie were born in Kentucky. Elsie was my great grandmother. Her full name was Elsie Elnora MESSENGER and she married William Edward BARTON, b. abt. 1888. I do not know what became of her sisters but suspect there might be some rather close cousins locally that I know nothing about and who knows nothing about me. Hopefully one of them is researching *their* great grandmother's line. Sadie was the oldest, b. abt. 1890. Annie, abt. 1892, then Elsie in abt. 1894 followed by Daisy in 1895. Elsie and William's children were: Ann BARTON, Bill BARTON, Charles BARTON, Deloris BARTON, Elsie BARTON, Mary BARTON, Minnie BARTON, Stanley BARTON, Sterling BARTON, and Thomas Edward "Tommy" BARTON. Tommy was my grandfather and my mother was his only child. He and my grandmother divorced when my mother was a toddler and he never remarried. Although there was no hostility between the families, we still are not real familiar with the BARTON side of the family. If there are any BARTON cousins out there, we would like to remedy that situation. William Edward BARTON's father was William Logan BARTON. Any help greatly appreciated, especially being able to link up with one of my mother's first cousins! -Debbie Leu
