Jan, Thank you so very much for your research. I have 2 possible birthdates for George Gilbert, so this Manerva could very well be his parents. From everything I can find, I believe George Gilbert must have "stretched" to truth about his age from time to time. My husband, George's son, said he was born in 1880, but his death certificate says 1871. It could be that George told his second wife a different date. In 1937, the death certificate says that he was 55 years old. If I subtract 55 from 1937, I get 1882. This date may be closer to the truth. I will definitely attempt to follow through on both these families. Hopefully, light will shine on me some day. I am just thrilled to have this information.
