Calling all PENNINGTON-BOONE-CHERRY-FRAILEY-GIST-HOUSER-EMMERT-RUDDLE-HOWARD-WEBB-SWINDELL-WOODS cousins and kin - we want to announce this event, and you are invited to attend: DEDICATION OF A MEMORIAL MONUMENT FOR RICHARD PENNINGTON (1752-1813) Revolutionary War soldier in the militia at Capt. Enoch Osborn's Fort, Montgomery County, Virginia 1781-83 Date: Saturday, September 3, 2005 Place: Bethlehem Cemetery, 2015 E. Bethlehem Road, Doyle, White County, Tennessee Time: 11:00 a.m. Tennessee SAR color guard will be present, also DAR and SAR invited Barbecue Lunch to follow in Sparta Richard's wife was Hannah Boone, sister of Daniel Boone the frontiersman, and they had the following children: JOSHUA, DANIEL BOONE, JOHN STEWART AND ABIGAIL PENNINGTON GIST. Richard died in White County, Tennessee 21 Dec 1813, and his gravestone is not readable. A new one will be dedicated in his honor and memory. Cousins and families from several states will be attending this, as descendants live in most every state.
