Nell Your announcement of a Pennington family reunion mentioned the "GIST" surname. According to SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA RECORDS by Rev. Donald J.Hebert: KING, Valentine - Esquire attorney and counsellor at Law from Washington County, Kentucky (son of John Edward KING & Sarah GIST) married 15 Jan. 1818 Nancy KING of New Orleans (daughter of George KING & Amelia JEUNE [LEJEUNE]) (St. Landry Parish Court House, Opelousas, Louisiana: Marriage Record #2) I am trying to learn the names of the parents of Sarah GIST and John Edward KING, and any other history I can find. George King (son of William KING and Lettice/Letitia BLAND) was a comtemporary and aquainance of my 4th great grandfather, John CLOSE. Both traveled from Nelson County, Breckinridge County, or Washington County, Kentucky and were in New Orleans, Louisiana by 1802 and were in St. Landry Parish, Louisiana by 1805. Any help would be appreciated Judy Wostal -------------------------------------------------------------------- mail2web - Check your email from the web at http://mail2web.com/ .
