This isn't the exact people you listed but I bet they are kin. Book "Kentucky Obituaries 1787-1854" on page113 "Joseph Stanton, of Miss., a student at Transylvania University. Died Feb. 13, 1837, in Lexington, KY. KG 2/16" The KG means the Kentucky Gazateer newspaper of Feb. 16th 1837. There are several biographies of Stantons in KY. Henry T. I beleive John Stanton's father was a Moses Stanton b. abt. 1809 in KY. John Stantons mother was Lydia ??? b. in KY or IN. Moses Stanton's parents may have been Thomas and Polly Stanton as they were usually close neighboors on the census records & their ages add up. I have traced my Stanton's on census records. It looks like they came to IN from KY sometime before 1844. Possible KY counties were Casey, Pulaski, and Wayne. I would love to hear anything about these Stantons. On a few census records it was spelled as Staunton.
