March 1793 George Elliott has erected a fulling mill and an oil mill on the Dicks River in Lincoln County about 2 miles above Myer=s mill at the mouth of Hanging Fork.@ AGeorge Elliott, 7 December 1799 living on the Dicks River in Garrard County regarding a farm for rent.@ That part of the river where George Elliott, Sr. lived was a part of the border between Garrard and Lincoln County.
