Hi: While reading your message, this part caught my attention: "CRECELIUS) located Minnie CRECELIUS" That surname stuck in my mind because I have been doing some heavy research in Crawford County, IN. I come across it all the time. A few weeks back, while at the local Family History Center, I was going through several microfilm rolls of "Families in Crawford County" (I'm sure that is not the exact name). Anyway, I came across copies of letters from an early settler who was from Germany. The letters were written to his brother and I think he was writing to him in Germany. They were written around the 1830's, I forget the man's first name, but I'm almost positive that the last name was Crecelius. The letters were very sad; he was writing describing how his wife could no longer walk due to illness in one. A later letter he describes the loss of his wife, and the fact that he feels that he will never see his brother again. It really brought home how hard it was (and is) for people to leave everything and start again, never to see loved ones again. Back to the original subject! You might look for Minnie in Crawford County or in surrounding counties in Indiana. Try posting on the Bulletin Board on Roots-Web for Crawford County regarding Crecelius. I came across a posting by an Ann Crecelius on that Board: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec?htx=message&r=rw&p=localities.northam.usa. states.indiana.counties.crawford&m=11.922 Ancestry.com took over the Bulletin Boards-but they are free access. You do need to sign up with a password, but it just takes a moment. Let me know if this helps! Carole V.
