Hi KY rooters.....Couple more ?'s: a) using Ancestry.com subscriber service the other day I made new DAR discovery of my TALBOTT family from Nelson Co--seems my grandmother (Edna Hester (Talbott) Murphy's grandfather, Pendleton Talbott's wife, Margaret Nicholsen (wow) traces back to a supplier (John Unseld-1745-1810) of materials & arms to Revolutionary Army thus apparently qualifying applicant, Mrs Nancy (Talbott) O'Brien, for DAR membership (I realized she was my grandmother's Aunt). So, is the SAR membership based on parallel criteria, ie, does a mere supplier of arms & ammunition qualify one for the DAR/SAR organization? (I've had pleasure to visit SAR library in Louisville & was quite impressed). b) The Ancestry.com people have some 152 Lineage Books on line for scrutiny......I'm wondering how many more volumes might there be down to current times? I'm hoping many many more having had such good luck in locating several generations of my family that I'd not previously known. c) anyone actually visit DAR HDQ in Wn DC for research purposes? What outcome? Thanks a lot for any tips, suggestions. Charlie Murphy near Sattle.
