I'm descended from the Partridges who settled as a group in Brandenburg starting in about 1820 (some of their descendents still live in Meade County). I've got two questions about the town in the time. One Partridge (my gr-gr-grandfather, Richard) lived on a 3/4 acre lot adjoining "the old boundary of the town of Brandenburg on the South" and on a road from the High Street to Hardinsburg. My guess was the road from the High Street to Hardinsburg is probably what is now rt 79 and that the reference to the old boundary means it was probably pretty close to where the courthouse is now. Does this sound right? The other question is does anyone know about the family of Erasmus O. Brown (esp. father or siblings)? He ran an apothecary shop as E.O. Brown and Co. and listed himself in the directory as a physician. Thanks! Craig Partridge
