The 4 June 1886 Jefferson Evening News: “S. A. Douglas Louden, formerly of Bethlehem Township, who died recently in Kansas, left a valuable pre-emption claim of 160 acres of land in that state and a $125 interest in New Washington. An uncle of the deceased, under the name of Jones, took out letters of administration. Mrs. Albert Copple, mother of Louden, of Washington township, who is the only heir to the estate will contest the right of Jones to administer the estate.” I have Isabelle "Bell" Francis Louden married to Albert Copple. Isabelle is the daughter of Hiram Louden. All of these people are from Clark County, Indiana. I know that Hiram had a grandson named Stephen, but if Isabelle is his mother he must have been born out of wedlock. I would appreciate any information on Isabelle or Stephen/S. A. Douglas Louden. I don't know why he would have been in Kansas. If anyone is interested in looking at public records regarding the estate of Douglas Louden, I would be willing to pay for costs and research time.
