I am trying to locate anyone with information on Nannie "Nancy" A. Steele Johnson. I have her in the Woodbine Precinct with her parents in the 1900 and 1910 Whitley Co. Census records. She may have already been married to Jess Johnson in 1920 but details on many things about her are quite sketchy. Here is what I know about her. Nannie A. Steele was born about Feb 1887. She married Jess Johnson sometime between 1916 and 1921 we are supposing. We have found Jess living with his son Harvey Johnson in the 1920 Whitley Co., KY Census. He is listed as married but there is no wife living with him. Nannie was his third (?) wife and his second wife, Mary Adeline Cox, had passed away in 1916. Nannie had three children: Annie Mae Johnson b.1921 Thomas Johnson b.1923 Gabriel Henry Johnson b.1925 Nannie developed tuberculosis and passed away at the home of Roy and Martha Decker where she'd been staying during her illness. My grandmother was with her when she passed away but was young so we have a best guess of about 1927 for a year of Nannie's death. I am hoping to find her wereabouts in the 1920 census or any other information regarding her other than what is above. Have been unable to find death certificate for Nannie A. Steele Johnson.
