I am still looking for the parents of Joseph Allen, thought to have been born in Maryland. He married Hannah Levy in New Goschenhoppen, Pennsylvania in 1798. Hannah was the daughter of David Levy and Margrethe Esbaugh. Joseph Allen and family were traveling west when they had a wagon accident near Paris, Kentucky in 1813 killing Joseph. Hannah remained in Paris with her children until her death in 1820. Joseph’s youngest son wrote quite a history of the family, but he was born after Joseph’s death and knew little or nothing about Joseph’s family. So my 30 year brick wall is finding the parents of my g.g.g. grandfather, Joseph Allen.
