I am filling in some census information on my Ingram's. In the process I found: 1880 Fed. Census, Lyon Twp., Cherokee, Ks. Pg. 528: William F. Ingram 40 yr. b:Il. Farmer/Physician W: Sara J. Ingram 37 yr. B: KY Keeping House Son: Jacob 19 yr. b: IL. At home Son: David 9 yr. b: IL Son: Willie 5 yr. b: KS Dau: Ellen Carpenter 16 yr. b: KY Frank Alexander 30 yr. b: NY - Stockman Rupet Messenger 28 yr. b: Nova Scotia - Stockman This is the first I knew about this William having a daughter! I ASSUME (dangerous) that she was illegitimate. Only because William's 1/2 sister named her illegitimate boy with her last name. Has ANYONE lost a 16 year old Ellen Carpenter? Sure would like to know about this story. It is rumored that William's grandpa (James Ingram) lived in KY and died there in 1850. Just where I don't know. Looking forward to correspondence.
