John Byram in 1816 purchased a land grant of 10 acres on the headwaters of Little Barren Creek. I have just discovered that this area is probably in Metcalf CO. On the 1820 Barren CO Census, both John Sr. (born 1765 Granville CO NC) and John Jr. (born 1797 NC) are listed as heads of household. John Sr. was married to Milly Morris. John Jr. married Elizabeth "Betsey" Parks in 1819 in Barren County.John Jr.'s sister, Nancy Byrum, married Granville H. Whitlow.
