    1. RE: [KENTUCKIANA-L] Our most wanted - Murphy & Fendley
    2. Donald L. Murphy
    3. My ancestors are Murphys and Fendleys all around the Metropolitan area of Louisville, including all Central Kentucky and Southern Indiana. I'm always looking for cousins to figure out those collateral lines I haven't gotten filled in yet. Also interested in any Morris, Sweeney or Pennington connections which also lived along the river. Thanks. 1. Harris Fork of Rock Lick Creek-Samuel Harris Jr
    2. Mike Lamb
    3. Samuel Harris on 11-11-1783 enters 300 acres on or near watercourse listed as branch of Rock Lick Creek, entered in book#10 page 261 of Virginia Grants, Jefferson Co, Ky. I think this is Samuel Harris Jr, son of Samuel and Suzanna (Mayhew) Harris. James Harris, brother to Samuel Jr, shows 400 acres on Cedar Creek just north of Elizabethtown in 1784 at this time it was still Jefferson Cty. 1783 James enters 150 acres on Bear Creek just a few miles southeast of Litchfield, which is in Grayson Cty today. Stephen Harris also a brother of Samuel Jr and James enters 300 acres on Lick Creek, west of Bardstown, Ky, which is in Nelson Cty today. Other land allotments for Samuel Sr's family are located at: http://www.statelib.lib.in.us/www/ihb/resources/landallottments.html Here you will find allotments for Samuel Sr, Samuel Jr, James, and John Maline Harris (this is actually John Mayhue Harris, just misspelled). This is Jefferson County land allotments for early settlers: http://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/ky/jefferson/court/land/1782land.txt Here is listed James, Ruth, John Mayhue, and their mother, Susannah Harris. I do not know the locations of Ruth and Susannah's property! From the information I have now, I think the Harris fork of Rock Lick Creek was named for Samuel Harris, Jr. If any local historians or geneaolgists can add information or change my perspective on this, please let me know. Need to have more information on these Harris' families. Thanks, Mike Lamb Searching for the history of naming the Harris Fork of Rock Lick Creek. Located on page 47 E-6 of Delorme Kentucky Atlas. Today this is in Breckenridge County, but originally would have been Jefferson, then Nelson, then Hardin and last Breckenridge County. Located close to the town of Vanzant. Thanks Mike Lamb

    2. There is a child Mary M. born in Jefferson Co KY 10/10/1911 mother is Bertha HOLANDER, if you need the certificate # to make sure this is the right Mary, send to me privetly, and I'll send the information to you. Since Luther, and Mary are b KY, I checked the birth CD from 1911-1920 Do you have the census page if not I can also send that to you. IN 1910 they are lifing in Jefferson co and all of his family is b KY and she is B IN Father B IN Mother born Germany There is a Dora living in the orphans home in the 1920 census I don't know if this is why William was living with Luther and his family. IN the 1920 census it says all of Luthers family was B KY, and hers are her Father B IN, but speaks German and mother B Germany. And Luther Jr is only 0/12 yrs old. So he had to be born in the month the census was taken, it says it was enumerated Jan 12, 1920. In both census' he is a Barber -- Teddy List Mom for the Grayson Co Ky List, Brady, Vertrees, Ford, Fulkerson, and Commonwealth http://www.kygenweb.net/pd-res/deford.html -------------- Original message -------------- > Clark County, Indiana 1920 census list a McAlister family living in the Port > Fulton area of Jeffersonville. > Luther McAlister, father (believed to have been born in Kentucky) > Bertha McAlister, wife > Three daughters: Mary, Laura Mae, Florence > > Also listed is a son Luther G and a nephew William. > I have in family file a Luther McAlister line but no reference to a son > Luther G. or nephew William. > My file list family in Kentucky, although Bertha has Clark County, Indiana > connections. > > ANYONE HAVE INFORMATION ON SON LUTHER G. 1. Eggers brick wall
    2. Becky Jones
    3. My gg grandfather was Henry Eggers, a respected Louisville Taylor on Market St. who died around 1860-65. I can't find anything about him or his family other than a small article supplied to me by the Filson Club. Henry's wife was Catherine, that's all I have on her. They had several children but I can only track one, Charles (my g grandfather) who took over the business when his Dad died, according to the Filson Club document. There were family rumors that he was born in Frankfort, but it could be KY or Germany. They were a family of devout German Lutherans who may have even owned slaves in the pre-civil war era. Charles married Henrietta Hess, (her family owned the Hess Mortuary) their children were Henry, Minnie, Florence, and my grandfather Arthur, all born in Louisville. Any information about Henry and his family would be greatly appreciated. beckyj@kc.rr.com Thank you! Becky Eggers Jones Kansas City, MO

    3. Robert Wasson and wife Catherine married about 1768 presumably in Shelby Co., KY. Catherine was supposedly born in Shelby Co. Robert died there in 1824 and his will was filed in Shelby Co. in March of that year. While his will names his children it (of course) doesn't give birth date information for them and what is out there on the web appears to be in conflict. Is anyone on the list working on the Wasson family? Children: Alexander, Margaret, Hannah, William, John, Mary, Nancy Jane, Katie, Robert Am also seeking a maiden name for wife, Catherine.
