I still can't make out the age of the daughter, but I think it says that Hardin's mother was born in Missouri. Hardin's occupation was farmer (general farm). The wife's name may be Delcie or Delsey or something else. It's very hard to read. I make out the younger child as Thomas, son, age 3, born Mississippi, father born Kentucky, mother born Mississippi. Hope that helps.

    3. Hi, I'm looking for my paternal family. I was born a Mayes in Evansville, In. After much research, I believe that my surname should be May. My Ggrandfather James May was born in 1879 in Ky. His father, I believe, is James Deforest May; also born in Ky. I looking for info on HIS suspected father David L. May. After looking on Rootsweb & Ancestry.com, I found that David L. May was born in 1802-06 in Hardin or Nelson Co. Ky. I went to both places & could not find them. I had heard that they were "river jumpers". I do know they moved around alot. Does anyone have these folks in their files? Thanks, Cindy Meeks

    2. Dear Charlene, Thank you for the list of questions. Something like this would be great to have answered by all members of the family. It is a start on recording something about the persons likes, dislikes, etc. We should all make up our own list similar to this one to get all our family to answer. Many of those things I would love to have known about my grandparents, parents, etc. Gratefully, Ivan D. Lancaster of Trafalgar (Indiana) Boone, Bryan, Morgan, Sturgeon, Hume, Taylor, Sosbe, Elliott, Ling, Dickey, Russell, Hollandbeck, Forsyth, Hughes, Burton, Corbett, Glenn, Butler, Collins, Strode, etc.

    3. A couple of things.... This list is NOT moderated and I don't "see" or preview posts to the list. I get them, just like you do, in my email "in box". Contrary to some popular opinion, I do not possess a crystal ball or clairvoyant powers. What I try to do, with lots of help from you all as subscribers, is help to keep the list running in a relatively smooth manner. We do hit an occasional bump in the road but for the most part the list takes care of itself. Each of you received a welcome letter when you subscribed to the list. In that letter were a few simple rules regarding use of the list. When someone breaks the rules, either by accident or purposefully, responding on the list is also breaking the rules. From the welcome letter: "YOU CAN BE UNSUBBED WITHOUT QUESTION, FOR THE FOLLOWING REASONS: 1.POSTING VIRUS WARNINGS TO THE LIST (Send it to me personally). 2.POSTING NON-RELATED ITEMS TO THE LIST (This includes "cute messages", "chain letters", "current events","political items","religious text") 3. Flaming or complaining about another list member ON the list." Enough said..... Pat Mount List Admin

    1. Still looking..........Allen, Barker
    2. P Belden
    3. Hi, Am hoping someone here might know something of this family. I am trying to find the parents of Jane Allen, b. c. 1804 in Ohio. Her father was born in Virginia and her mother was born in Kentucky. By 1837 she is in Crawford Co, Indiana & marries Hiram Barker on the 24 Jan. 1837 in Crawford Co. Believe they are in Meade Co, Kentucky on the 1840 Census and are back in Crawford Co, IN by 1850. Hiram must have died before 1860 because Jane is back in Meade Co, KY listed as head of house with children Zachariah, Stacy, Allenada (?), & Victoria. Also living with them is a William H. Allen, 31, b. IN. I don't know if there is any connection but thought I would throw it in. Living right next door in 1860 is Benjamin Angel, wf. Elizabeth, son HH & John Troutman, age 7, all born Ohio. Help would be very much appreciated, P Belden

    1. medical professionals list needed
    2. I am seeking a book, pamphlet or other material that would list Kentucky physicians, doctors, coroners, and possibly midwives for the time period of 1900 to approximately 1935. The source does not necessarily have to be one that can be purchased. Also, if you have knowledge of any of the people who practiced in a Kentucky county during that time, I'd appreciate hearing from you. Thank you, Janice A.
