    1. [KENTUCKIANA-L] SURNAME SEARCH CLUE
    2. Hi, Seekers: Have seen so many msgs. where people are having such a hard time finding surnames. May I suggest that - if you have a search engine - you plug in the surname. You should get many selections to surf through. You might also try using an on-line Email Directory for your sought-after surname. Suggest you Email those that are listed as choices - they may know something you want to know. I've found quite a bit of pertinent data just by using my search engines. Good hunting - good luck! 1. [KENTUCKIANA-L] Missing Family Bible
    2. Sammarty
    3. These is my first posting and I truly hope that someone can help me. When the home of my parents, Eugene and Jessie Seward, was sold in Jeffersonville, Clark Co. Indiana in the late 1950's, our family Bible disappeared. It contained many names and dates of my ancestors. It was a very large and heavy Bible with a decorated metal (probably brass) top and bottom cover and fastened with a brass hasp. Among the names included would be Seward, McCarty, Irvin and possibly Brewster. If anyone has seen this Bible in an antique shop or in any location, I can't tell you how much the information would mean to me. Martha Seward Snider Sammarty@aol.com

    3. I see at least one way that we are distantly related. I have the Rachel Haskins that married Jonathan Enlow, although I haven't been able to connect my Mary Lucinda Elizabeth Haskins to Rachels father (Nineon Haskins). I put Mary Lucinda Elizabeth because I have several documents with all three names. Mainly bible records, and census records. When my great grandfathers (Andrew John Browns) parents died, William Jefferson Haskins took him and some of his other brothers and sisters in and raised him.My great grandfathers father was Robert Brown of Orange County Indiana, and married Mary Haskins in 1851. 3. Hello! This goes along with my previous Crowe query. If you look at the dates for the births of James and Susan, you will note that there is a big gap between their supposed births and the births of their supposed children. This information came down to me in a handwritten family narrative. Now, it is possible that there is a missing generation here....James and Susan are really the grandparents of the listed children, or James and Susan's birthdates are incorrect, or Susan was a marvel of medical miracles bearing Ruth when she was approximately 60+ years old. ANYONE???? HELP! I have NO idea where these folk come from but Ruth and husband, Mathias Maston Mount reared their family in SCOTT CO., IN and James and Susan were reportedly married in SCOTT CO., IN and reared their family there too! Someone most have run across these folk somewhere! Name: James Crowe Birth: 17 Mar 1787 Marriage: 8 Feb 1842 Scott Co., IN Spouse: Susan Hornday Birth: 14 Aug 1791 Children 1 F: Mary Jane Crowe Birth: 11 Dec 1844 Vienna, Scott Co., IN Spouse: Jonathan Parks 2 F: Linnie Crowe Birth: 7 Sep 1846 Spouse: James Parks Marriage: 31 Jan 1877 3 M: Truitman Crowe Birth: 18 Jun 1849 4 M: Millard F.
