Hi Ms. Wright Just read your post on the Kentuckiana L surname list board and was wondering if you would mind giving me the ladie's address that has books on Bullitt county. I would again like to invite everyone to visit the webpages of the 49th Indiana Civil War Regiment. I am looking for ancestors of the men of the 49th, and attempting to gather information on the 49th. On my pages is a Complete Roster of the soldiers of the 49th, as well as a Gravesite listing of known soldiers. A short history is to be found as well. Have you ever corresponded with Betty Darnell of Sheppardsville, Ky. She is/was a big Milburn researcher and I know/knew her from there. I am sure that she has done research on that name. Hi, I'm new to the list. I would love to communicate with anyone interested in the Nathan ROBERTSON family that was first in Bourbon county KY and then on to Clark county IN in the late 1790s and the early 1800s. Nathan ROBERTSON and his wife, Elizabeth SPEAKS, came from Frederick co. MD in the 1790s to Bourbon Co. KY. Their oldest son, Robert, married Susanna JONES. Her parents (I think) were John and Susanna Jones of PA. One of Robert's sons, Benjamin, married Eliza E. OWEN. Her parents were William M. Owen and Ann MOORE. Thank you, Audrey Lunceford Ulm, Sumas WA
Hi everyone! By now I'm sure you've heard about the problems with USGenWeb and USGenWeb, Inc. so I'm not going to bore you all with any details. Because I know very little about law, and because I do feel there is something very funny going on...I am moving all information that has been donated to me to my local server and this information will not be accessible through my USGenWeb sites. It will, however, be accessible through Kentuckiana Genealogy. Some of you may feel I'm acting too quickly...but the news of USGenWeb, Inc (a for-profit company) was dropped on us very quickly and we were expected to change links, etc very quickly. I want everyone who donates their information to me to know that it will not be used for profit, that is why I decided to move everything away from my USGenWeb sites for the time being. Now there is no chance the for-profit USGenWeb, Inc. (or any other organization) will (legally) get their hands on the information that I and my visitors and friends have spent our time collecting. I have noticed too many contradictions in the information coming to me about this situation. I don't know about anyone else, but it has me worried. I hope my worries turn out to be for no reason...but I do know that I'm not the only person worried about the accusations, contradictions, etc. I hope you will all support me in my decision to move all of the records and make them inaccessible from my USGenWeb sites. The information is still there, and only one extra click away. I still fully support the USGenWebs original goal of providing genealogical material on-line and free to everyone. My concern is that there may be some in the non-profit or for-profit organization who no longer feels the same way. A few more things I'd like to tell you about; I've been hearing alot lately, as I'm sure some of you have, about the US Government not providing grave markers after the year 1999. I have spoken with the Veterans service officer in Floyd Co., IN and he has told me that he has received no notification of this and that, if it were true, he was sure he would have by now. He feels that this is just a rumor, and asks that if you are concerned, contact your local service officer instead of spreading this rumor any further. I've added many links to the family links section, including places to visit in the area, schools and family pages. A new gedcom database has been added, Wiseman, thanks to Wayne Wiseman for this addition! :-) The Genealogy of the Leavenworth Family Preface and Introduction are complete and on-line. I will be working on completing the index this evening. I've added the link to the Pigeon Roost pictures at Lois Mauk's site! Thanks Lois! I've added another newspaper to the "Looking Back" section! The Corydon Comet, dated February 14, 1898. I'm still working on all the other items that have been donated to us! Thanks to everyone! Have been working on the John H. Trent (md to Jane Renfro 1815 in Breckenridge county) line that was on Meade Co. 1840 census. Jane was daughter of Joshua and Jane nee Hairstone Rentfro. Am trying to find proof of John H and Jane Trent's children/ 1840 Census indicates two male over 20, 2 females between 10 & 20, and 2 males under 10. Were these Calvin W, John Henry, Hardinand F., Emily W (mar to William Ballard), Patrick H. and William? Have much assumed evidence of these relationship but need more especially in regards to Calvin W. Trent who died in 1851. Does any one know of a will or land record that might prove these relationships. Would appreciate any help in locating proof. Thanks, Margaret Williams, gg-granddaughter of Calvin Trent.
Hello, I'm fairly new to this list, and have been searching with no luck for information on the family of Silas and Nancy Pennington, who in the 1850 census were residing in Hardin County, KY. Am specifically interested in the four-year-old child listed as James. My g-g-grandfather was James K. P. Pennington, born in Hardin Co., KY abt 1845, and since Silas's was the only Pennington family there in 1850, I believe this James is probably my g-g- grandfather; however, haven't found anything else to corroborate it. James' son, "Dave" Pennington b. 1877, married Elizabeth "Lizzie" Anne Robinson, b. May 8, 1883 in Hardin County, KY, and no one living remembers her parents' names. She did have at least one sibling, a brother named Weaver. I've searched in many databases (and there are scores of Elizabeth Robinsons) but have not found an Elizabeth born in Hardin County in 1883. I would be so grateful for any leads on these two people, and perhaps I can help someone with other past Hardin County residents. Thank you, Linda Koenig Louisville, KY
