    3. Dear Lost Husband, I thought your site was very well done. HOWEVER, it loaded extremely slowly. At one point it was doing 2 bytes/sec! You might try to find a way to make it load faster would be my only constructive criticism. Now, perhaps you should start thinking about a discussion list for Genealogy Husband's. Mine would probably join in a heartbeat. In August a family book (1,400+ pages) will premier that I have been working on for almost 5 years. He has been "threatening" to sue the president of the family association for "alienation of attention!" Enjoy the 4th, everyone. 1. [KENTUCKIANA-L] DIETZ/DEITZ/DEEDS, etc. in Kentuckiana
    2. Lois Mauk
    3. I am aware of a number of people interested in the DIETZ/DEITZ lines here in Southern Indiana and thought I would pass this one to the Kentuckiana list. There was until recently a "DEEDS" surname list on Rootsweb. The list included all the variant surnames, including DIETZ, DEITZ, etc. The manager of that list passed away and the list was deactivated as apparently no one stepped forward to take it over. If you or someone you know has an interest in the DEITZ/DIETZ/DEEDS line and would be interested in managing the list, please get in touch with me. I am reluctant to tackle this project as (1) I have no genealogical connection to this line and (2) I already manage two surname lists. Those tasks as well as my commitment to the Clark County Cemetery Preservation Committee pretty much consume ALL my spare time. Let me assure any potential managers that this task is not at all daunting and, in fact, not terribly time-consuming. If I had any personal information on this line to share, I would probably take on the project myself but I feel inadequate to the task as my time is so scarce and my only knowledge about the line is what little I know about DIETZ Cemetery in Clark County, Indiana. Hope to hear from one of you soon. 1. [KENTUCKIANA-L] 1909 Louisville, KY Street Numbers change.
    2. Hello, Well, the lightning damage is almost all taken care of and now I am anxious to contact those kind persons who offered to look up an address that was supposed to have been changed in 1909. In the 1909 City Directory of Louisville, the address is not listed at all. It is 2641 W. Market Street with 26th and 28th as the cross streets. This is the house where the mother of an elderly friend of mine was born and my friend would like to see the old house but isn't sure what house number it is now. I would appreciate any help in finding the new address for old 2641 W. Market. Her mother was born in 1900. My friend says 28th is the other cross street because 27th "doesn't go that far". Thanks for any help. Barb Temple _____________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail. 1. [KENTUCKIANA-L] Update on McClintick Cemetery, Clark Co., Indiana
    2. Lois Mauk
    3. Thought I'd take a second to report that things are still happening at McClintick/Sylvester Cemetery in Clark Co., Indiana. Spent Saturday afternoon with a young man named Steve Overton from Sellersburg. He is an Eagle Scout candidate and is going to coordinate and manage the restoration of this long-neglected site. Steve's goal is to be finished by the end of August. Talked yesterday with Dale Popp, the Jeffersonville Township Trustee, who reported that he is making arrangements to get the stumps from all the trees cut down on 5/10/98 ground out. Mr. Popp also wants to install a split-rail fence around the property when we get finished. We have two crews of teenage volunteers from the National Acteens Convention coming to McClintick/Sylvester Cemetery on Friday morning, July 3rd, to help us with clearing the grounds, which will make continued probing efforts possible. Once the site has been thoroughly probed, then we can begin the job of repairing all the broken stones. The Township Trustee is going to have a dumpster at the site that weekend to facilitate removal of the mountain of debris. Right now, all I've got to do is find enough rakes to keep them all busy! More details at http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Plains/5881/mcclintickcem.html. (Lots of pictures.)
