I have just located a lost cemetery in Floyd Co. Indiana with the family names of the children of John Eddleman who pattened 160 acres of land in Floyd Co in 1811. His 2 year daughter died in 1812 and is buried with four other Children. I belive he and his Wife are also buried there. If anyone is interested I will put the Information together for them and send it. His residence when he purchased the land Grant, was Bourbon Co. Ky. According to the ages the children were all born in Bourbon Co. Since this Informatiom, I belive was not previously recorded, there may not be a record of these deaths. Jack E. Thank you Pat for answering my query about the Anchorage Insane Asylum. My next question is rather complicated. It involves a distant relative of mine by the name of Thomas Buford who was born September 18, 1824 in Woodford County, KY. He died February 12, 1885 in the Anchorage Insane Asylum. He was committed to this institution because he shot and killed a supreme Court of Appeals Judge by the name of Elliott who was involved in Thomas' lawsuit (still another VERY long story)... What I would like to obtain are newspaper articles pertaining to the murder and the death (obituary hopefully) of Thomas . Next... His brother Colonel Abraham Buford a famous "Turfman" of Kentucky who was born January 16, 1820 in Woodford County and died (due to a self inflicted gunshot) June 9, 1884 in Indiana supposedly because of his brother's embarrassment to the Buford family. Although he committed suicide in Indiana he was so well known in KY that he must have had an Obit in some of the KY newspapers. If there is anyone out there who could do some "Look-ups" for me regarding the above I would pay for copies and postage and parking or whatever (if it is going to be a lot, please let me know BEFORE you do the research so I can tell you if I can afford it or not) Or if anyone can give me some addresses I could write to, to obtain this information I would be most grateful. Thank you all for reading this, hope to hear from someone real soon. Fern K Buford-Walker

I thought people might find this interesting. The Louisville Libraries (and possibly other Kentucky libraries) have a section of various Kentucky books. These are circulating books, not just reference. They consist of various counties and cities around Kentucky and many go into detail about various people who lived there, cemeteries, etc. Anchorage, Jeffersontown, Middletown, Louisville are only a few. Many of you have asked where old hotels, orphanages, home of refuge and other places are or were. The book I just sent back was called VIEWS OF LOUISVILLE, SAMUEL W. THOMAS, EDITOR. It contains well over 400 pages of pictures, lithographs and woodcuts of Louisville from the mid 1700s up until the 1970s. Many of the places such as the Marine Hospital, Home of Refuge, Galt House, Indian Queen Hotel, have pictures plus captions which tell the location. Hope this can help someone with their searching. Sincerely, Pat
this person didn't think his slave was worth 2 cents, that's why... they caught slaves so that they could make sure they paid the penalty for running away in the first place.. prison and lashings..... that's the only reason he wanted them back....this slave was not even worth keeping to them...
