    1. [KENTUCKIANA-L] RE: Elizabeth Dittemore etc
    2. Dick Carter
    3. I have been looking for 30+ years for a marriage record for John Carter Jr and Eliza/Elizabeth Nutterfee/Nutterfield... This John Carter Jr is not to be confused with the John Carter who married Elizabeth Betsy Goss Dittemore et al... Carter/Nutterfee marriage would have occurred 1831-1833 in probably Indiana, but, perhaps in Ky... I have checked them all, but, have found nothing... Also, I am trying to find relationship between John Carter of Morgan Twp, Owen Co., In and John Carter of Taylor Twp, Owen Co., In. ( about 10 miles apart) when there were not too many people around...John Carter of Morgan Twp was from Montgomery County NC... Settled in Indiana about 1829, had many sons, and all had sons John, Calvin, and Columba... All of which are names in "my" John Carter's family... To add insult to injury, when "my": Columba Carter, son of John died in war, His widow married a John H Carter, apparently related to neither John Carter that I knew about... Any help appreciated... I would appreciate any information on a John Carter marriage, regardless of who the bride was... Dick Carter [email protected]

    3. Louisville Courier-Journal columnist Dale Moss' article about cemetery preservation efforts in Southern Indiana is in this morning's paper: "Preserving signposts to the past -- Some try to rescue old tombstones, graveyards" http://www.courier-journal.com/cjextra/columns/moss/moss.html I'm at bit ill at ease about being labeled the "mother of the local preservation effort", but Dale did a really nice job with the story. :-) GREAT comments attributed to Jack Briles and the print version included three terrific photos. 1. [KENTUCKIANA-L] GERMAN CHURCHES
    2. Jo Ann asked about the Second German Evangelical Church of St. John in Louisville: The Family History Center of the Church of Latter-day Saints has a copy of the microfilm of the Church Records 1851-1867 for the St. Johns United Church of Christ of Louisville, Kentucky. Would this be the same church ? The microfilm number is FHL 1531480. Item 6 is for that church. The script is in German, but names are recognizable. Included on the same microfilm are the records for the Bethlehem United Church of Christ, Louisville, Kentucky. Items 1-4. The script is also in German Thank you to Mr. Buchhold and Mr. Horlander for all of the information that they have so generously taken the time to send me answering my inquiries. I hope that this helps. Martha Wurtele

    2. Hi list members: Does anyone know the name of the Lutheran Church located on Broadway? To the best of my memory; it is on the north side of the street, headed east past Fourth Street but I can't remember how far past Fourth Street. For those of you researching family members who did belong to the Lutheran Church their records are great! If you need to document your dates check out their church records. They are available from the Family History Centers. Thank you all. Martha Wurtele Alabama
