Gee is a relatively common name. Many in Washington, Indiana.
This is the first time in my life that I am even hearing of the surname "Gee"...I know who my great grandfather was because I met him before he died in 1975...and I know whom I was told was his father and mother...Louis Robinson and his wife Mary (do not know the maiden name)...I know that one birth date and where he wasd born...that is it...I am bereft of information on this subject... I tell you what I am looking for: who exactly this Louis Robinson was, his location and who his father was (name and location in Kentucky)...more than likely, it was in/or around the Hopkinsville area... Steve Fort Lauderdale -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Wednesday, June 13, 2001 2:39 PM To: Steve Robinson Subject: Re: [KYCHRIST] Re: Jesse Louis Robinson Steve, I have found that whoever may be giving the information at the time of a death is not always correct in their information about the person who died. The wife or Mother could be too upset to answer the questions and an uncle or friend gave the information as well as they could. Or if the wife or husband is giving this, they would be upset and possibly give the wrong dates. Do you think that the grandson of the Gees could be who you are searching for? These people were living in District 5, when the census was taken. I will try to look for more when I get to the library here. Jean C~~

Hi All, I am hoping someone may be able to suggest some reading material or tell me some history on the KENTUCKIANA area. Am having trouble trying to track my family because they keep moving back and forth between Kentucky and Indiana, early 1800's to early 1900's. I have noticed many families in the area doing the same thing. Is there a reason they keep moving? Also, does anyone know of a good history on Wolf Creek, Meade Co, KY? I odered a film on the history of Meade but it only mentions Wolf Creek a couple of times. It said Wolf Creek was one of the earliest settlements of Meade Co and that it was an important port on the Ohio River. I'm descended from the Partridges who settled as a group in Brandenburg starting in about 1820 (some of their descendents still live in Meade County). I've got two questions about the town in the time. One Partridge (my gr-gr-grandfather, Richard) lived on a 3/4 acre lot adjoining "the old boundary of the town of Brandenburg on the South" and on a road from the High Street to Hardinsburg. My guess was the road from the High Street to Hardinsburg is probably what is now rt 79 and that the reference to the old boundary means it was probably pretty close to where the courthouse is now. Does this sound right? The other question is does anyone know about the family of Erasmus O. Brown (esp. father or siblings)? He ran an apothecary shop as E.O. Brown and Co. and listed himself in the directory as a physician. Thanks! Craig Partridge
