I am particularly interested in the arrival of Franz F. Mundel in this country around 1850 from Prussia, and the place of birth of Anna M. Engelhart and their subsequent marriage. I am also interested in the place of birth of Shubael C. Little. I know he was born in 1795 but I am not certain of the place of birth. Cal Knobeloch

Listmembers: Let have a roll call and get some queries on our list. Roll Call to begin on Tuesday,July 31 at 6am --Sunday, August 5th at midnight. Most of you long standing subbers know what a roll call is, but for the benefit of the new subbers: This is just my way of generating some list activity, as nobody gets any answers if there are no posts. As everyone knows there are just a few guidelines to follow for our roll calls: 1. DO NOT PLACE THE WORDS "ROLL CALL" IN THE SUBJECT LINE. 2. DO NOT HIT THE REPLY BUTTON, ADDRESS IT TO THE LIST. (Hitting the reply sends it back to me, and then nobody sees it). 3. Include in your subject line: Name of the person(s)//time frame (if known)//location 4. Be specific in your queries 5. For your own benefit, DON'T just send a query that says "Looking for SAMSON surname". 6. Include as much info in the body of the query as you can for the best possible results. 7. Capitalize your SURNAMES within the text so that they stand out to others. 8. Answer whatever queries you can, IF you have info...please don't just answer to say "I don't know". Good Luck and I hope everyone makes a connection. Remember, this runs from Tues. July 31--Sunday August 5th. Hello Again: Can some kind soul help me with a translation problem? In an old German Lutheran Church there is a marriage register. The register is divided into columns. My problem is with the fifth column from the left. The one after Eltern/Parents. It is asking something about the marital status of the couple. Most entries have Ledig. which means unmarried. There are many entries that have what looks like: Verheueathet. there is a mark over the u, but it does not look lika an umlaut. Any assistance with this puzzle would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and effort. Martha Wurtele
