Listmembers: I opened the list for discussions regarding the current events of our country. I didn't open it up for chain letters, "please pass this on" , virus warnings, petitions, etc. These items are never allowed on our mailing list. Anytime you are sending items with so very many different emails attached to them, you are just increasing the chance for any spreading of viruses, etc. You post as you please however, not the above listed items and not any anti Semetic or any government postings. Anyone feeling that they must do so will be unsubbed from our list. Hi Everyone - This is to announce a new Eastes/Estes web Site, titled: The Eastes FamilyHistorical Records Bank www.eastes.org The site is still under construction and will be in a state completion for some time. This site was designed to provide a repository for all historical data relating to the ancestors and descendants of Elisha Estes who died in Roane County Tennessee in 1818/19. The purpose of the site is not only to establish as repository of Ancestral Heritage for other researchers and future generations, but also for those seeking information on associated families. Since there is a growing practiceof genealogical data being usurped from personal web sitesand used for commercial purposes, this space is privately owned and copyrightedas of 15 September 2001. Any fellow researcher may obtain permission to use this material by contacting the owner at - [email protected] or [email protected] The records of 34 researchers were donated and consolidated to form the initial deposit in this bank. As more records become available, they will be added to this repository. This branch of the family were probably in Virginia at the time of the Revolutionary War. These records show they were in South Carolinain 1790 and 1792 and migrated into Kentucky, Tennessee and Indiana. The basic records show related families of CRUMBLISS, HARVEY, MULLIKEN, NEIGHBOR, WEBB and BRISTOW. As time passed, many more surnames were added to this growing family. A section titled - Related Families: showing surnames CUNNINGHAM - HAVENS - LONG - MALOY - POOR - SCOTT, is under construction. Others may be added later. Again, this site is not complete and is in the process of expansion. We appreciate your patience! Roy Eastes,Gulfport, MS
I am searching for W. Arthur Church b. ca. 1860 married to a Baff?. He was born in Virginia, but moved to Kentucky before 1882. Their son George Gilbert Church was born 5-16-1882 in Kentucky (county is unknown) and died 7-19-1937 in Wichita County, TX. I have descendants, but no other ancestors. I hope someone has some information about this family. This has been my brick wall. Cecilia (Loneskye)
Listmembers: As many of you know, in light of recent current events; I had opened our list up for discussion of it and allowed off topic conversations regarding it. I maintain 17 lists and did this with all of them. I am proud of all of you for the reason that unlike many other lists I am on: I think there was a total of 15 postings among 17 lists, much less then expected. None were argumentative or started a flaming war. I guess this just goes to show the caliber of persons on my collective lists and the good sense and taste that you all have. I was warned not to open them in view of potential flaming, but I had (as it turns out) well placed faith in all of our subscribers to act appropriately and you did. I thank you all deeply.
