    1. [KENT-ENG] PARKER/ MARSH : Dover area
    2. I have a link to William PARKER (born 1827) who married Sarah ISAAC in Biddestone, Wiltshire (1848). I have a solid history of them and their children through to 1861 census in Wiltshire. By 1871 census William appears to be in Canterbury with one of his daughters, also named Sarah. His wife on the census is shown to be Laura, born Fareham Hants. No trace of Sarah, his wife from Wiltshire. By 1881 (Dartford) and 1891 (Chadwell, Essex) census, his wife is stated to be Sarah, born in Dover c.1837/1838. No marriage has been found. There is good circumstantial evidence that the Dover Sarah is Sarah MARSH born Dover c.1838 (possibly JQ 1838 Eastry 5 145) who by 1861 census is Sarah LYDE. There is a possible marriage in JQ 1851 ...but that would make Sarah age 13 at marriage. Unlikely? My question to the list is .... Is there a village /hamlet in the Dover/Eastry area which sounds like “Fareham” and which the census enumerator may have interpreted as Fareham, Hampshire? This would at least explain the Laura problem! Thanks for reading this. Derek Ward
