    3. Hi, Does anyone know if the church records have been copied and are available anywhere for Lower Halstow? Where would people in the mid 1800s be buried if not at the Church? Thanks, Gloria

    3. Hello Gloria Lower Halstow churchyard was still in use in the mid-1800s - indeed, it contains 20th Century burials. There is a Methodist chapel on the road to Upchurch which I believe had its own burial ground. It might also be worth looking at the CofE parishes of Newington and Upchurch. The three parishes straggle into each other, and Newington churchyard in particular is vast.
