Freeman THOMPSON married Mary Ann Cavell DURBAN on 11th February 1840 at the Parish Church Deal, Kent. Freeman a 'waterman' resided at Beach Street and is the son of Richard William THOMPSON also a 'waterman'. Mary lived at Middle Street and is the daughter of William Hayward DURBAN also a 'waterman' and Jemima MORRIS. Their eldest child Mary Ann Louisa THOMPSON, was baptised 4 August 1841, at Deal and married Henry FRY a 'wheeler' in the Royal Artillery at St. Andrews Church, Deal on 29 July 1860. On 22 November 1860 they disembarked at Auckland, New Zealand and were stationed at the Newton Barracks. Mary Ann Louisa FRY, died in New Zealand when her youngest daughter Emily was a baby, about 1868/69, her death wasn't officially registered, nor was her daughter Emily's birth registered. I haven't been able to find a death in England of Freeman THOMPSON nor his wife Mary. As they had other children, would anyone on the list be researching this family? Cheers, Diane New Zealand.
