I have traced a colleague's Kent ancestor back to Middlesex in the 1851 census, however, I cannot work out occupation given. The ancestor is James THIRGOOD, born 1826, Enfield, Middlesex. The census details are: Piece: 1703 Folio: 505 Page: 25 The transcription details states "Hiyler". On the image, the word , to my eyes, ends with "...yler". In the consequential censuses James is a farmer of several acres. Can anyone assist please? George Rainham, Kent.
