I live in Kendal, Westmorland. I checked the phone directory, and currently there are no Kendalls living in Kendal. There are quite a number around though, mainly in Barrow-in-Furness. Kendal in the 1600s was remote with poor roads, and ordinary people didn't travel far. The emigrants to this country were Francis and Deacon Thomas Kendall, who sailed from England under the alias of Myles, again taking the name of Kendall upon reaching this country. Their father, John Kendall, lived in Cambridge, England, in 1646, where he died in 1660. I also have a number of Prices (with the christian name Petley) originating in Berkshire.
