Thanks Karen, We searched that and now realise it is little Norman Street Farm, Ide Hill, Kent. would that be part of the farm you mention is for sale or a separate farm alltogether. The picture of Little Norman Street Farm is exactly the one that I have got here in Australia, so now I have to find out if it was owned by George SEARS or maybe he was working on it. the newspaper article that I have on Ellen says that she went into service in the Manor house in her teens. on the marriage cert Ellen is listed as a domestic and Edward as a gardener. we know that they worked on a large estate and were made redundant and came to Australia with their first child. I am wondering if it would do any good if I wrote to the house and ask them if they know any of the history.
