    3. Hello to everyone. I am new to the list  and I am hoping some one may be able to help me locate or put me on the right track for finding my wifes grandparents name Madden. The Madden,s lived in Barnsley  from 1912  with Joseph Madden marrying Elizabeth Sharrock [Joseph was from Ireland].The Madden,s worked in the coal mines  in Barnsley  West Riding Yorkshire. John R Madden  born Barnsley 1912  and brother Henry  born 1913 moved to Kent during W/W 2or just after  even up to 1950. John was in the navy before the war and he married a lady from Kent.They both worked in the Kent coal mines and both had family born in Kent. They left a sister in Barnsley  named Emma Madden   born 1917 and she married a Harold Willmott in Worsbrough  near Barnsley. Any help would be very much  appreciated  Bazza  and Rita   from lovely Anna Bay  Australia   Thanks

    3. Bazza Where have you searched for this family...there is a person researching this family on ancestry..have you looked for them in the 1911 census..that would be the first thing I would do.. In the 1901 census you will find a Joseph Madden born 1893 Barnsley Yorkshire with mother Ellen and Father John with brothers John and Thomas..
