Better to look at all the available census - they are listed at a couple of different addresses at the 'Clenches' so would have been working at the 'Big House' Lozzie T -----Original Message----- From: Jan Ashfold <[email protected]> To: kent-eng <[email protected]> Sent: Mon, 28 May 2012 14:14 Subject: Re: [KENT-ENG] Bright Thanks Karen, We searched that and now realise it is little Norman Street Farm, Ide Hill, Kent. would that be part of the farm you mention is for sale or a separate farm alltogether. The picture of Little Norman Street Farm is exactly the one that I have got here in Australia, so now I have to find out if it was owned by George SEARS or maybe he was working on it. the newspaper article that I have on Ellen says that she went into service in the Manor house in her teens. on the marriage cert Ellen is listed as a domestic and Edward as a gardener. we know that they worked on a large estate and were made redundant and came to Australia with their first child. I am wondering if it would do any good if I wrote to the house and ask them if they know any of the history.
