Well said Susan. I too have my own website and have never shared my family tree with Ancestry. I´ve received lots of messages saying that I´m missing out on finding cousins; but what has not been appreciated it that I´ve been tracing my family for over 40 years and have found most of my cousins by doing my own research and backing it up with valid sources, the most remotest of which is a 7th cousin - our common ancestor died in 1733. Those that use Ancestry´s trees can probably lay claim to be descended from illustrious ancestors with no substantiated evidence. The only information I´ve found on Ancestry´s member´s trees has been totally incorrect; so not very useful!
