I have a question about the records of British military abroad. Where would one find the records in England, other than the locale such as India or other colonies, etc.? Specifically, my cousin has spent fruitless years trying to find the birth of one Christina Devine in Gibraltar, daughter of Robert Devine and Mary Stewart. The family later appeared in Nova Scotia, Canada on the way to Ontario. A defunct Gibraltar site once told me that the birth of Christina was not recorded there and had no records of Devines. nancy seger

If you can find them on an index from a site like findmypast it should have a GRO reference.
