Looks like the same entry. I think the word written in is "above". The date is the same except for the year. Looks like a stroke through the "2" in 1792 and a little 1 written in above. Thus there is only 1 baptism entry for Thomas. Hello Annie in Minnesota, I've just taken a look at the entry and I can confirm that Mr. Tyler had double entered the baptism of Thomas son of Thomas and Sarah Denn(e). The second entry corrects the year from 1792 to 1791 and then Mr. Tyler has made a notation in that margin "qv above", which translates to 'which see above'. I've worked with Tyler extracts for a number of years and you can read his material as a transcriber sitting with the register books transcribing as he views page by page. Sometimes, though, it almost looks as if he got up to have a wander around and came back at a page that he'd left off at and re-started with the same extract. He has also copied his extracts from a master notebook into smaller more focused books. Sadly, though, there is no mass index to his work but with Ancestry's indexing of the entries it helps enormously to find pertinent entries. Annie, Tyler's index refers to all events in the Ripple registers, not just baptisms. There are three consecutive index entries for DENN(E), in the 1790s (not 1890s). I presume these are the ones you mean: 1791 Sep 18 DENN Thos s Thos & Sarah bap. 1790 Dec 11 " E Thos & Sarah HERRIDGE 1792 Sep 18 DENNE Thos s Thos & Sarah bap. In the 3rd entry, the final digit of the year (the 2) has been crossed through. The marginal annotation might read "done", perhaps with a small bracket above. This 3rd entry may be a duplication of the first, made in error, as the day and month are the same. The 2nd entry appears to be this couple's marriage. FamilySearch have transcribed the Archdeacon's Transcripts for Ripple, and they only have one baptism for Thomas DENNE in this time-frame, on 18 Sep 1791. They also have the marriage on 11 Dec 1790. Probably the only way to be sure is to check the original (including burials). Both ATs and BTs for Ripple have been filmed by LDS.
