Hello Peter Actually that is exactly what I did, the ancestor who I'm looking for is a gt gt grandfather on my Maternal side, he is James BLANDCHARD who maried Maria BURTON in Tisbury Wiltshire. On pthe 1841 census it gives James as householder aged 45 with wife Maria aged 40, then children Emmanuel Elizabeth Sarah my gt grandmother Mary John and James. It appears my gt gt Grandfather was born about 1796 so I went into LDS website, pressed on "search" and entered name country as England U.K and birth, NOTHING it came up No Record, so I entered Tisbury Wilts England U.K the same No Record. I then entered James BLANCHARD birth/any London, England U.K. Because with my researching I KNOW that there are a lot of BLANCHARDS in London, the same thing came up. So I'll try the site you give which has a 'g' after search, does this extra letter mean anything. Hello Phyllis You say that you "entered name country as England U.K". This is where you went wrong:) You need to *select* England from the drop down list in the Country box. If you enter your own text you will get no results.
