    3. Cowgate Cemetery was badly neglected and many stones have been lost - a group of volunteers have now cleared the cemetery and recorded those headstones that were still there and legible. The transcriptions are at Dover Library I believe, in the local studies section. The library staff will do a quick look up for you - you can find the contact details on the internet.
