I have a number of ancestors for whom there are no headstones though there are burial records. They had wooden crosses which weathered away- and in one or two cases iron crosses that were removed to be melted down during the second world war. -----Original Message----- From: kent-eng-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:kent-eng-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Connie Sent: 24 July 2013 21:39 To: reenee_tree@yahoo.com; kent-eng@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [KENT-ENG] Monumental inscriptions reenee_tree@yahoo.com wrote: > Where can a person write to find monumental inscriptions for Goodnestone near Sandwich. Esther Morris died in 1862. The cemetery headstones were so weathered when we visited there that I could read nothing for that time period and could find no one in the village who knew where there were any such records. Hallo Are you sure she had a headstone? It was often more than a family could afford. -- Connie http://oursalmons.wordpress.com/ ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to KENT-ENG-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
HI I have a death date, a burial date for my GG Grandfather - but do not know where he was buried or which church he would have been taken. The family were all church goers. He died in Blue Town 1854, aged 24yrs. This was long before the halfway Cemetery was inhabited.
