Hi Barbara, Again, unfortunately, no connection but I did find Nelson JEFFERY living with his Parents and siblings on the 1851 Census in Ewhurst, Sussex. His Parents are shown as John JEFFERY, b.Abt.1814, Hawkhurst, KEN and wife, Hannah, b.Abt.1816 Hawkhurst, KEN. I have lots of references to Hawkhurst and Ewhurst, but only through Marriages into the JEFFERY family, no JEFFERY's as such. JEFFERY is certainly not an uncommon name but interesting they are living with the MALLYON family.
