Pauline: I have a great grandfather who married an Elizabeth Pierson in Yalding about 8 Dec 1793. She was married to a William Baseden. They had several children. I have no further information on Elizabeth and I am trying to research her. Their children were: Rebecca Ann Baseden born abt 1796 Ann Baseden born abt 1798 George Baseden born abt 1801 William Baseden born abt 1803 James Baseden born abt 1806 Harriet Baseden born abt 1812 I show all births to be in Yalding, Kent, England. The son George is my 3rd great grandfather. He married Elizabeth Bishop 20 Jul 1823 in East Barming, Kent, England. The spelling of the surname varies. It has also been shown as Basden, Basedon, and Baisden. This Elizabeth PIERSON was half sister of my ancestor Elizabeth Pierson OBEY who was baptised 1790 in Yalding. I have more information on the PIERSONs and OBEYs but very little on the TOWNs.
