    1. [KENT-ENG] Invite to Martha and William WOODCOCK

    3. My yearly invitations to James and Thomas Smith have been ignored so I am moving to Plan B. I had hoped the Smith brothers would identify their parents. Alas, no. Plan B turns to Stephen Woodcock because his children were brought to Canada to live with Smiths who had a mystery relation to my Smith brothers. James was my gggrandfather born about 1827 in Kent. _Stephen Wooccock_ Born: 1811 to Martha Smith and William Woodcock in Wye. Death: Unknown. Possibly Ware or Blean. Married Charlotte Stevens, Feb. 1834 in Wye Children: Martha Sarah Woodcock, 1834, married Francis Johnson in Canada William Stevens Woodcock,1836, married Mary Grace Sloman in Canada Elizabeth Ann Woodcock, 1838, married James Oliver in Kent. Charlotte died in 1838 after the birth of Elizabeth. The children lived with Charlotte's parents in Crundale until 1848 when Martha and William were taken somehow to Mitchell, Perth Co, Ontario Canada to live with one John Smith and his wife Sarah Sanford of Sussex. They took the Smith name but not legally as seems to be common then. I have tons of info on Wm. Woodcock's other children as I have followed their lives in England and the immigration of two daughters to Perth in their later years. I also have the ancestry of Martha Smith and her burial in Wye. But, cannot connect the Smiths. So, I think it would be a sterling idea to get Stephen Woodcock to dinner. He disappeared after his wife's death and he has a lot of explaining to do. Happy Christmas to the list and all their invitees.
