    3. Would love to meet my ancestors of GILLINGHAM.. the Ridley family for Christmas out here in NZ.. but if I have my way this coming year, will visit the grave of my Gt Uncle who died 1916 was with the Canadian Infantry, native of Gillingham. Kent buried Gillingham, but in the old cemetery which is now a playing field, but the CWGC headstone is in the newer cemetery, do I visit both areas! Surely they could have moved the remains to the new Cemetery! I do have the paper work on Willie from Canada and from CWGC site.. seeing it is the 100 anniversary in 2014 of the Great War, feel I must visit his grave..(s) Oddly enough another soldier who died over here in Featherston and from KENT, had two headstones, which meant two graves.. I asked Commonwealth War Graves Commission to work it out, why two headstones. oh dear someone didn't have the common sense to take the incorrect details one away just put the new one elsewhere in the Military Cemetery, don't need brains for some jobs I guess! He was George Prentice. Died WW1. Featherston had a Military Camp. Lt. George Henry Prentice.. single.. from Kent.. his sister was here in NZ as well.. But must get to see where Willie lies.. our Ridley maybe related to Bishop Nicholas Ridley.. say maybe! Merry Christmas folks.. and a lovely 2014, safe one.. Adele Clareville Taphophile.
