Joy, Do you have any information on the WEEKES line? I have a James WICKS/WEEKS raising a family in Croydon in the 1820's and '30's and since the line was floating around a bit at that time many of the residents were born in Kent. His wife traced her lines to the RUSSELL family of Godstone, the BRASIERof Keston and the CHITTY family of Limpsfield. James may have had a brother in Croydon. James died in 1839 and his age indicated a birth about 1770. His wife Fanny Mary CHITTY was born around 1786 based on one census. My only straw is that he may have been born in Crowhurst, the son of John and Elizabeth Harding?? Bob:I have information that my Martha Weekes was born on February 25, 1826 to Samuel and Jane Weekes. This information was from the East Sussex Records Office. Martha married William Vallentine on July 31, 1848. Martha's father (Samuel) was shown as a labourer, and William was shown as a bricklayer.
