Sorry everyone - finger trouble. GGfather FREDERICK FRIEND was born 1829, not 1629. I have his birth certificate. I have also the birth details of Elizabeth Turk Friend 14/6/1801 in Peasmarsh. The reason I am asking for help from the Kent list is that I understand there are a lot of FRIENDS in Kent and maybe Elizabeth may fit into one of those families. When she bore my ggrandfather, Frederick Friend, on 2/10/1629. she named his father as John Friend. She had Frederick in Paddington, London. This leads me to believe she went away to have the baby or perhaps she was working there. Either way, this is a huge brick wall for me, not to be able to go back any further. I am addressing this to the Kent list since I know there are lots of Friends in Kent, but I have a feeling there is a need to go back to the Turk family, that of Elizabeths "father" as well.
