    3. James Capp, Prisoner was transported to New South Wales on the Ship Charlotte and arrived Jan.26, 1788. This was the 1st transportation of prisoners to OZ. Does anyone have information about him? Could he have been a brother to Frederick Capp, born abt 1739 In Shoulden, Kent, England, married Mary Turner , died May 1814 in Shoulden. Anyone know anything about this James? Frederick named one of his son's James. Betty

    3. Stella, Thank you, I had learned about James from from a article about the Convict Ships. I will keep the link but it did not add anything except that his trial was in Devon. The article I read said that he was from Kent.
