Hi Betty, >From the First Fleet Convicts Register - James COPP (alias CAPP), aged 40 years, born about 1746, died February 1788 at Sydney Cove, buried 19 February 1788 at Sydney Cove - tried 20 March 1786 at Exeter-Devon with James GOULD (aged 45; died 1792) for stealing 11 wooden barrels and other goods valued at 65 shillings, and sentenced to transportation for 7 years, held onboard prison hulk "Dunkirk" and shown as 'tolerably decent and orderly', arrived onboard "Charlotte".
