    3. I have found the christening of Robert John Field on 21st April 1844 at St. Peter and St. Paul, Milton by Gravesend, Kent. Father Robert Field and mother Ann. Can anyone find the marriage of parents Robert Field and Ann prior to 1844? Neither Robert John Field or his father Robert Field seem to be in anyone's tree on Ancestry. Robert John Field and his wife Ellen McCarthy didn't have any children so their lines aren't directly handed down. I also can't find Robert John Field with his parents on the censuses! Is it me or Ancestry or what? -- --- Regards Frances Lee

    3. Hi Frances On FreeBMD there is a death recorded for Robert FIELD in June qtr 1848 (Gravesend 5 133) - maybe Ann is widowed and remarried prior to the 1851 census, and she and children are listed under another surname? Try searching for Robert b.1844 Gravesend without a surname to see if he shows up with his mother anywhere. 3. Thank you Trish for finding the death of Robert Field in 1848 in Gravesend! I didn't consider he would die so soon whilst his son was so young! Yes I will search for his son without the name Field and see if that works! Best wishes Frances On 23 February 2014 00:50, symonds3 <psym8950@bigpond.net.au> wrote: > Hi Frances > On FreeBMD there is a death recorded for Robert FIELD in June qtr 1848 > (Gravesend 5 133) - maybe Ann is widowed and remarried prior to the 1851 > census, and she and children are listed under another surname?
